Wave-Out!

Wave-Out! is a 2 to 4 player, wave jumping game. In the event of two players each controls two participant. In the event of four players each controls one. Each side has one participant that jumps to create waves towards the opposing team and one participant who jumps to avoid the incoming waves. If you get hit by a wave you are knocked back, eventually falling of the platform.

I acted as Game Designer, Voice actor and assitant artist (Animation). The game is inspired by a minigame from one of the older Mario party games and fitted to a Wipeout style theme. We approached the gamejam with the mindset to first get a satisfying core gameplay and then building up from there with game feel.

This is a game made during the 2017 Finnish Global Game Jam. It won the Pixel Sport award at the Finnish Game Jam Awards 2017
